Kristin Hersh Returns To Australia in 2025 for National Tour

 

The singer-songwriter will be performing in Adelaide for the first time in over a decade.

After more than a decade Kristin Hersh returns to Adelaide as part of her 2025 Australian tour.

The American alt-folk singer was last in the country in 2023 when she sold out a string of shows along the East Coast in support of her acclaimed 11th studio album, Clear Pond Road.

Currently in the studio completing another LP with alternate act Throwing Muses, Hersh is excited to be touring Australia next year. The talented songstress will perform songs from across her diverse career, so expect to hear fan favourites, deep cuts and several covers. Along with six performances in some of the country’s best live music venues, Hersh is appearing at the Port Fairy Folk Festival and the Blue Mountains Music Festival during her three-week visit.

Hersh’s tour commences in Canberra at Live at the Polo on Friday, February 28 and is followed by dates at Mary’s Underground in Sydney on Saturday, March 1, The Corner in Melbourne on Sunday, March 2 and the Old Museum in Brisbane on Wednesday, March 5.

The ‘Your Ghost’ and ‘In Shock’ singer-songwriter then plays Port Fairy Folk Festival on Saturday, March 8 and Sunday, March 9 before shows in Perth at The Rosemount on Tuesday, March 11 and in Adelaide at the Grace Emily on Thursday, March 13. Her final two Australian shows are part of the Blue Mountains Music Festival on Saturday, March 15 and Sunday, March 16.

Tickets for all shows go on sale Thursday, September 12 at 8:30am local time via Troubador Presents.

Described as a “musician's musician, songwriter's songwriter, and an innovator's innovator,” Hersh’s career spans close to 45 years, with the creative getting her start at the age of 14 with her band Throwing Muses.

Across her incredible journey, Hersh has released 11 solo albums, her most recent being 2023s critically acclaimed Clear Pond Road, ten albums with Throwing Muses and one full-length studio LP with rock trio 50 Foot Wave.

Known for her candid lyricism addressing everything from mental health to childbirth, Hersh is an influential voice in the female rock space who had a big impact during the 90s. Her Australian tour is one not to be missed.
