Lime Cordiale are changing things up with their latest tour, announcing nine shows performing with various symphony orchestras across the country.

Oliver and Louis Leimbach, the duo behind the hugely successful indie act, have teamed with symphony conductor, Vanessa Scammell (Birds of Tokyo, The Cat Empire), and arranger, Alex Turley (Genesis Owusu, Dan Sultan), to give Lime Cordiale’s catalogue a symphonic twist.

Each concert will see over 80 musicians on stage, transforming your favourite Lime Cordiale tracks into orchestral masterpieces. Sadly the lads have decided to skip Adelaide, so fans keen on seeing Lime Coridale perform with an orchestra will have to travel interstate.

“With a cello-playing mum, we grew up playing classical clarinet and trumpet,” says the indie-pop sibling duo. “The band came together while Oli was studying at the Conservatorium, and playing in concert bands and orchestras was a big part of Lime Cordiale’s beginnings.

“This is a major bucket list tick for us. It’s scary and intimidating, but our inner band nerds are all for it! We can’t wait to dive into some epic orchestral arrangements of our songs.”

Lime Cordiale’s orchestral tour begins with a show at Wrest Point in Tassie on Tuesday, August 27 alongside the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra. The duo then hooks up with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra at Melbourne’s Hamer Hall for two shows on Thursday, September 11 and Friday, September 12.

This is followed by a single concert with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra at Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall on Friday, September 27 and three performances with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra at the Sydney Opera House on Thursday, October 16, Friday, October 17 and Saturday, October 18. The tour wraps up with two concerts with the West Australian Symphony Orchestra at Perth’s Riverside Theatre on Friday, November 14 and Saturday, November 15.

Pre-sale tickets are available from 9:30am local time today, Tuesday, March 25 here. General on-sale takes place at 9:30am local time on Thursday, March 27 via limecordiale.com.
