Metallica Announce 2025 Australian Tour
The thrash metal giants have locked in stadium shows across the country, including a huge gig at Adelaide Oval in November 2025.
After Metallica announced a 21-date North American tour a few weeks back and hinted at heading our way, the thrash metal giants have finally confirmed a run of stadium shows across Australia and New Zealand taking place in 2025.
These shows will be James Hetfield, Kirk Hammett, Lars Ulrich and Robert Trujillo’s first Australian gigs since 2013 when Metallica was part of the Soundwave Festival lineup.
The epic Australian leg of their M72 World Tour touches down in Perth at Optus Stadium on Saturday, November 1. Metallica then have concerts lined up at Adelaide Oval in Adelaide on Wednesday, November 5, Marvel Stadium in Melbourne on Saturday, November 8 and Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane on Wednesday, November 12. The final Aussie date of the tour takes place in Sydney at Accor Stadium on Saturday, November 15, before Metallica jet over to Auckland, New Zealand for one gig.
Joining Metallica on their whirlwind tour are alt-rockers Evanescence and 80s punks Suicidal Tendencies.
You won't be surprised to learn there are a slew of pre-sale options available. Members of the Metallica Legacy and Fifth Member fan clubs get first dibs, followed by Mastercard, Vodafone, Live Nation, Westfield and stadium pre-sales. These all take place next week before the general on-sale opens on Monday, November 4, at 11:30 a.m. local time. For full ticketing details head to the Live Nation website.

Discussing what fans can expect from the tour on their website, Metallica released a statement saying: “We’re setting up the stage at the end of each stadium for this run with the Snake Pit in front of it. There will be a full complement of Enhanced Experiences available, ranging from access to a meet and greet, production and stage tour, and food and beverage in the “Black Box” Lounge to early entry into the venue and the aforementioned Snake Pit. The very popular “I Disappear Ticket” will be available and is the ultimate pass for the fan who wants to run away with us for all six shows. Grab one of these and attend every show Down Under!”
