Midge Ure might not be a household name to some, but the accomplished Scottish singer-songwriter and producer has been involved with some of the biggest bands in the world.

His career includes stints with Ultravox, The Rich Kids, Thin Lizzy and Visage, along with success as a solo artist. Ure also co-wrote and produced the hit charity single, ‘Do They Know It's Christmas?’, and co-organised Band Aid and the charity events Live Aid and Live 8 with good friend Bob Geldof.

Five years since his last tour, Ure’s return is long overdue and includes six dates across the nation in October performing all the hits from his nearly 60-year career.

“I performed live long before I was ever allowed anywhere near a recording studio and as much as I love spending time writing and recording, live music remains my first love,” Ure said in a statement. “This Catalogue tour will allow me to not only play a wide selection of hits from my past but perform some of the most requested favourites. Revisiting these moments from my musical life is something I am really looking forward to sharing.”

Starting in Perth with a concert at the Astor Theatre on Thursday, October 9, Ure takes the show on the road, performing at The Gov in Adelaide on Saturday, October 11, The Tivoli in Brisbane on Sunday, October 12, Odeon Theatre in Hobart on Tuesday, October 14 and Enmore Theatre in Sydney on Thursday, October 16, with the final show taking place at Palais Theatre in Melbourne on Friday, October 17.

Early bird pre-sale kicks off Tuesday, March 25 at 8:30am local time. Sign up here. General on-sale begins Thursday, March 27 at 8:30am local time via destroyalllines.com.

Winner of the Ivor Novello, Grammy and BASCAP Awards, Ure was also appointed OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) for his contributions to music and charity.

Scoring huge hits across multiple decades, Ure’s impressive resume includes seven consecutive top 10 UK albums with Ultravox, a #1 hit with his solo single, ‘If I Was’, and had a hand in writing the aforementioned 1984 Band Aid single, ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas?’, which has sold over 12 million copies worldwide.

Having performed with everyone from Phil Collins and Mark Knopfler to Elton John and Sir Paul McCartney, Ure’s long-awaited return to Australian shores is not to be missed.
