The news heavy metal fans have been waiting for has been confirmed: Slipknot is returning to Australian shores as part of Knotfest Australia 2025. After the initial lineup of the 2024 edition – which includes Pantera, Disturbed, Lamb of God and more – was announced, many fans of the nine were left disappointed with the lack of presence from the festival founders. But now, just under two weeks out from the festival, Slipknot have announced they will return to Australia as headliners of Knotfest Australia 2025 in celebration of the band’s 25th anniversary.
Not only are Slipknot playing Knotfest Australia 2025, but those who currently have or are going to buy tickets for Knotfest Australia 2024, will get priority access over anyone else when the 2025 festival goes on sale.
“We’re stoked to announce the return of SLIPKNOT for KNOTFEST 2025 to celebrate their 25th Anniversary, together with a huge line-up to be announced later in the year,” organisers said in a caption on the Knotfest social media accounts. "Only KNOTFEST 2024 ticketholders will receive exclusive access to the first release of tickets to KNOTFEST 2025, which will be prior to all other presales," the statement continued. "If you haven’t purchased your tickets to KNOTFEST 2024, now is the time!"
Knotfest Australia 2024 consists of three shows in Melbourne on Thursday 21 March, Sydney on Saturday 23 March and Brisbane on Monday 25 March. Along with the official festival dates, many of the lineup are playing sideshows across the country, including Pantera and Disturbed, who both play Adelaide Entertainment Centre on Tuesday 19 March and Sunday 17 March respectively.
You can still grab tickets to Knotfest Australia 2024 via Ticketek. Tickets for Pantera and Disturbed’s sideshows are also available via Ticketek.
