Gold Coast-based punk rockers and all round ratbags The Bennies have announced a massive Australian tour in support of their upcoming new album, You Can’t Put Out This Fire.
Arriving April 18 (pre-order here), You Can’t Put Out This Fire is the band’s first full lenghter in quite some time and is sure to be another wild offering of the band’s unique sound merging ska, punk, metal and reggae.
Taking to the Gram to announce the tour, the lads wrote: “LETS GO FOR A RIP!!!!!!! The Bennies, “you can’t put out this fire” album tour!!!!!! Bringing along our dear friend, slim krusty! TIX ON SALE NOW!!!!!!! Don’t snooze!!! This is gonna be soooooo good!!!!”
Hitting a whopping 22 cities and towns across the nation, the self-proclaimed “best band in the world” will be joined by one-man folk punk troubadour Slim Krusty, who recently completed his own mini-tour of the country.
The You Can’t Put Out This Fire album tour kicks off with two shows in South Australia on Wednesday, May 21, at Lion Arts Factory in Adelaide and Thursday, May 22, at The Globe in Mt Gambier. The lads then make their way through Victoria, New South Wales, the ACT, Western Australia, Tasmania and Queensland, with the final gig taking place at Sol Bar in Maroochydore on Sunday, August 10.

The Bennies have been kicking around for over 15 years. Beginning life in Melbourne, the current lineup is based on the Gold Coast and comprises sole original member Anty Horgan (lead vocals, synthesizer) alongside SNESmega (turntables, backing vocals, guitar), Ollie Roots (guitar, backing vocals), Nick Thunder (bass, backing vocals), Sam Faulkner (drums) and Dougie Rankin (trombone, backing vocals).
Across the journey, The Bennies have shared two EPs and four studio albums – Party! Party! Party!, Rainbows in Space, Wisdom Machine and Natural Born Chillers. Their upcoming fifth LP, You Can’t Put Out This Fire, is their first in seven years and promises to be another banger!
Known for their energetic live performances that have seen The Bennies share the spotlight with global heavyweights like NOFX, Less Than Jake, and The Smith Street Band, and play at some of the world’s biggest and best festivals, the band’s forthcoming tour is shaping as one massive party you don’t want to miss out on attending!
