After selling out shows across Australia earlier this year celebrating the 20th anniversary of their seminal album, Begins Here, The Butterfly Effect have announced a heap more shows to please their adoring fans.

But instead of playing the same old venues in the big cities, The Butterfly Effect are taking their 21 Years of Begins Here tour to regional centres across the nation. The tour spans 25 dates across the country as voted for by fans of the band.

“For this tour, we basically threw it open to the fans to tell us where they wanted us to play!” shares drummer Ben Hall.

“We put most of the suggestions into a voting form, the punters voted, and from there, we made the final cut. Some towns had a massive amount of interest, but unfortunately, finding a venue proved too difficult this time around. Next time, we might just bring a stage on the back of a truck!”

The 21 Years of Begins Here regional tour commences on Thursday, January 30 in Cairns and then hits towns such as Gladstone, Ipswich, Coffs Harbour, Bunbury, Castlemaine and Pooraka, before finishing up in Darwin on Friday, March 14.

Coming along for the ride are Canberra rockers Hands Like Houses, who are also performing at this year’s Froth & Fury festival.

Tickets for all 25 concerts are available now via The Butterfly Effect website.

Released in 2023, Begins Here was a surprise hit with Aussie alt-rock fans, with the album peaking at #23 on the ARIA Album Charts. Boasting fan favourites ‘Crave’, ‘Beautiful Mine’, ‘Always’ and ‘One Second of Insanity’, the album led The Butterfly Effect to perform at Australia’s top festivals while touring internationally for the first time.

The Butterfly Effect are just as excited as the fans for this new run of shows, with vocalist Clint Boge sharing, “It feels amazing to still be doing what we love and to be celebrating 21 years of our first album is very humbling. I never envisioned having a career spanning three decades, but I am very grateful and eternally thankful to the fans, friends and people who have helped along the way and made it possible.”

The current lineup of The Butterfly Effect comprises all four original members – Clint Boge (vocals), Kurt Goedhart (guitar), Glenn Esmond (bass) and Ben Hall (drums) – who got the band back together in 2017 after the last iteration called it quits in 2016.

Since then The Butterfly Effect have toured consistently and released new music, unveiling their fourth album IV in 2022.

Catch The Butterfly Effect at Beer & BBQ Fest in Mount Gambier on Saturday, March 8 2025 and at The Bridgeway Hotel in Pooraka on Sunday, March 9 2025. Tickets are available now via The Butterfly Effect website.
