The Longest Johns Plot Debut Australian Tour 2025
The UK trio are brining their sea shanties Down Under next May.
English folk trio The Longest Johns are bringing their sea shanties to Australian shores in 2025 for the very first time.
The Bristol-based buccaneers known for their ‘rock n roll of 1752’ are making the journey across the rough seas to entertain Aussie punters with their rousing folk ditties.
The current lineup of Andy Yates, Jonathan Darley and Robbie Sattin drop anchor in May 2025, commencing their tour with a gig at Perth’s Amplifier Bar on Tuesday, May 13. It’s then on to Adelaide’s Lion Arts Factory on Thursday, May 15, Melbourne’s Corner Hotel on Friday, May 16 and Brisbane’s Brightside Outdoors on Saturday, May 17, before a final sing-along at Sydney’s Factory Theatre on Monday, May 19.

Forming in 2012, The Longest Johns have built a steady following over the past 12 years. Merging soaring vocal harmonies with fiddles and drums, the band has released five albums, with their most recent being this year’s charming LP Voyage.
Shooting to global fame in 2021 when their take on the traditional New Zealand shanty ‘Wellerman’ went viral on TikTok, The Longest Johns now boast over half a million YouTube subscribers. They’ve also amassed a mind-blowing 400 million streams.
The Longest Johns have performed at the biggest international folk festivals around the world and serenaded the Royal Family at the late Queen’s birthday party at the British Embassy in Paris.
