Billie Eilish’s new album hit me hard and soft dropping in may

British pop superstar Billie Eilish has taken to social media to reveal her much anticipated third album, Hit Me Hard and Soft, is dropping next month.

Produced and co-written with her brother Finneas O'Connell, Eilish is taking a different approach to the standard album rollout. There will be no singles released from the record, with fans having to wait until Friday May 17 to hear the ten track release.

“Finneas and I truly could not be more proud of this album and we absolutely can’t wait for you to hear it,” Eilish said on Instagram.

Hit Me Hard and Soft will be available on all the usual streaming platforms as well as eco-friendly vinyl. According to Eilish’s website, there will be eight different vinyl fans can choose from, with “the standard black variant made from 100% recycled black vinyl.

“The remaining 7 coloured vinyl will be made from ECO-MIX or BioVinyl. The former is created using 100% recycled compound made of leftovers from any colour which cannot otherwise be used."

Party in the paddock returning in 2025

After a successful 2024 event, Tassie festival Party in the Paddock has been confirmed to return in 2025. This will be the 12th edition of the Launceston event.

Set to be held from Thursday February 6 til Sunday February 9, the confirmation of the three-day music and arts festival being held again is great news for music fans and the Tassie economy.

“We recognise the importance of these events as not only avenues for entertainment but also vital platforms for community engagement, artistic expression, and economic support for local businesses and artists,” Festival Director Jesse Higgs said in a press statement.

“It’s the most important time in our history, after running this event as a locally owned and operated business for the last twelve years, that we receive more support from the state government. We’re currently working towards more funding for PITP and this will be vital for our future as Tasmania’s leading Music & Arts festival.”

Understanding the current cost of living crisis, festival organisers are releasing a limited number of early bird tickets next Thursday April 18. Those lucky enough to secure these tickets will not only receive a cheeky discount, but have the opportunity to pay for their ticket using Zipay, with a minimum weekly payment of just $10!
