Ahead of the release of her sophomore album, I’m Sorry, Now Say It Back, Gamilaraay woman Thelma Plum has announced an Australian tour.

Taking place across October and November, Plum will hit the road and perform ten shows in both major cities and regional areas.

Speaking about the tour, Plum says, “It seems like forever since I did a national headline tour, but with a brand new album to choose songs from, the band and I are putting together a whole new show to play in these beautiful rooms. Can’t wait to show you all!”

The extensive tour begins in Newcastle with a show at the Civic Theatre on Thursday, October 24 and is followed by concerts at Anita’s Theatre in Thirroul (Friday, October 25), City Recital Hall in Sydney (Saturday, October 26), Hindley Street Music Hall in Adelaide (Friday, November 1) and Fremantle Arts Centre in Fremantle on (Saturday, November 2).

The final five dates of the tour take place in Melbourne at The Forum (Friday, November 8), Hobart’s Odeon Theatre (Saturday, October 9), the Gold Coast’s Miami Marketta (Thursday, November 14), Toowoomba’s Empire Theatre (Friday, November 15) and Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall (Saturday, November 16).

Melbourne rockers The Slingers will provide support on most of the shows, besides Adelaide, which will feature soul singer Miss Kaninna, and Perth, with the bill including Miss Kaninna alongside Banjo Lucia.

Speaking about her forthcoming album, which she’s been writing and recording for the past five years, Plum says: “This record has been a long time in the making. It was created with love, heartache, forgiveness and care in mind. It’s personal and kind of like I’m sharing pages from my diary with you, but it’s time for it to fly free.”

Recorded in Brisbane, Byron Bay, London, Sydney, and Melbourne, I’m Sorry, Now Say It Back is an album “full of stories of heartbreak, positive affirmation and dogs.” It follows her 2019 debut Better in Blak, which was nominated for five ARIA Awards, taking out the gong for Best Cover Art.
