MORE FRED AGAIN… SHOWS RUMOURED, COULD ADELAIDE MAKE THE LIST?

Fred Again… hinted at more intimate gigs in Australia and we think Adelaide should be his next stop.

THE LATEST: The Fred Again.. rumour mill is in overdrive. Taking to TikTok last night, Purple Sneakers teased they’d heard whispers that Fred is due to play a non-major city next weekend — a city he’s never played before outside of festivals. Further, Joy Anonymous — who is originally from Adelaide — is currently on tour with the UK star and teased a new collaboration together titled ‘piece of me’ at the Sydney Opera House.
Fred Again.. is known for his iconic pop-ups at super intimate and independent venues, even playing to only 200 people last night at Sydney’s Club 77.
The dots are connecting! Stay tuned….
SECOND UPDATE: Fred Again.. has now posted “It’s not over”. We will see what happens.
UPDATE: It's now official. Fred Again.. is playing more shows in Melbourne, Sydney and the Gold Coast. Sadly there's no Adelaide gig, so if you're keen on seeing the great man you'll have to fight with the rest of Australia for a ticket at one of his arena shows interstate. Fred will play Rod Laver Arena on March 4, 5 and 6, Quodos Bank Arena on March 12, 13 and 14 and one pop-up show on the Gold Coast at an undisclosed location on March 9. Tickets for the shows go on sale via Ticketek tomorrow. All the details regarding ticket sale times are below.

Melbourne: Thursday, 29 Feb at 9 AM AEDT

Gold Coast: Thursday, 29 Feb at 11 AM AEDT (10 AM Local)

Sydney: Thursday, 29 Feb at 1 PM AEDT

Fred Again… hysteria hit an all-time high yesterday when the British DJ touched down in Sydney for a not-so-secret show. Performing at the Sydney Opera House to a packed crowd last night, the man behind global hits ‘Marea (we’ve lost dancing) and ‘leavemealone’ took to TikTok to declare he wants to play more local venues this year. Fred posted a short clip showing him DJing with the caption; “this year I wanna do more to support small independent venues”. The video goes on to say he wants to play the best spots in town everywhere he goes, asking his 970,000 followers where he should play next.
As you would expect, the clip quickly went viral and currently has over 1.8 million views and over 14,000 comments, with fans shouting out their hometown or favourite venues. Some of the venues people have asked Fred Again… to play include Felons Barrel Hall in Brisbane, Patterns in Brighton, UK, the Ave Live in Philidelphia, USA, and Adelaide’s own Divide. There are also a lot of people wanting Fred Again to DJ their house or play their wedding, which seems unlikely.
When it comes to additional shows there are a lot of rumours about where and when Fred Again… will perform in Australia, as it’s hard to believe he flew all this way for one show. One big rumour gaining traction is that Fred might be headlining this year’s Splendour in the Grass and last night’s Sydney show was part of a promotional tour, an idea Fox FM producer Leon Sjogren posted about on Twitter.
Whatever the reason for Fred Again… being Down Under, we have no doubt more shows are set to be announced, with whispers saying he is planning several shows at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney. Sources are also claiming Fred is set to play additional shows in Melbourne, possibly at Rod Laver, as well as a gig at the recently opened PICA (Port Melbourne Industrial Centre for the Arts).
There are also rumblings of a show on the Gold Coast on March 9 at Doug Jennings Park as reprted by Purple Sneakers, as well as several New Zealand shows. But these are all rumoured to take palce at large-capacity venues, which is the opposite of what Fred Again… said in his TikTok. If he really wants to live up to his promise of playing smaller independent venues, then Adelaide is the city for him.
Imagine seeing Fred Again… behind the decks at Hindley Street Music Hall, The Gov, Jive, Lion Arts Factory, Adelaide UniBar or the newly opened Station Arcade. There are plenty of other small and intimate venues the DJ could play in the state, and there’s no doubt any Adelaide show would sell out in record time. Although if something like this does happen, don't expect it to come cheap, with Fred's Sydney Opera House Show tickets going for $149 + booking fee.
Fred has hinted that further shows will be announced today, so keep your eyes on his Instagram and TikTok and keep your fingers crossed Adelaide gets a little love.
