Having spent the year touring America and Europe, nu metal pioneers Hed PE are returning to Australia in 2025.

This is the band’s first Aussie visit since 2018, with the quartet lining up five shows across the country before heading to New Zealand for three final dates.

Led by vocalist Jared “M.C.U.D.” Gomes, Hed PE have been touring in support of their 2013 record, Detox. Breaking out in the early 00s with their sophomore album Broke, Hed PE are mainstays of the nu metal scene and are sure to bring the heat when their tour commences at Perth’s Amplifier on Sunday, February 2.

Dates then follow at Crown & Anchor in Adelaide on Wednesday, February 5, Max Watts in Melbourne on Friday, February 7, Crowbar in Sydney on Saturday, February 8 and The Triffid in Brisbane on February 9.

Tickets for all shows are on sale now via October Presents.

Merging hip hop, rock, punk and soul into a palatable sound that’s resulted in an incredible 15 albums, Hed PE has been a cornerstone of the nu metal/rock genre for over three decades.

The band’s most recent release, last year’s Detox, received generally favourable reviews. The album deals with a cavalcade of taboo topics and is noticeably heavier than Hed PE’s usual output.

Speaking on the record, frontman and sole remaining original remember Gomes says: "Detox embarks on a spiritual journey from a state of chemical enslavement to self-liberation, and then, ironically, back again. I composed this from an intimately personal standpoint, as I grappled with addiction throughout my life.

“On this album, I’m unapologetically candid, addressing topics such as sexuality, substance use, and a hardcore lifestyle. I’ve incorporated more rap elements, and the music is notably heavier and thrash-oriented. I discovered the inspiration to delve into some gritty subjects. This album truly grants the audience what they’ve longed for, without compromising artistic integrity.”

Catch Hed PE at Crown & Anchor on Wednesday, February 5. Tickets on sale now via October Presents.
