Phil Campbell began playing guitar at age 10. By 13 he was performing locally with a cabaret band around his hometown of Pontypridd, Wales, before joining pub rock act Roktopus. At 18 he formed his first heavy metal band, Persian Risk, and less than five years later he was performing with Motörhead on stages across the world.
Campbell remained with the band until they disbanded in 2015 after the death of frontman Lemmy Kilmister. He played on 16 of Motörhead’s albums and performed headline and festival gigs all over the globe.
Not long after the demise of Motörhead, Campbell recruited his sons to play with him and Phil Campbell and The Bastard Sons was born.
