The Hives Announce New Album & 2025 Australian Tour

Swedish rock stars The Hives are back! The energetic five-piece fronted by enigmatic frontman, Howlin' Pelle Almqvist, are dropping their seventh album, The Hives Forever Forever The Hives, on August 29 via Play It Again Sam.
Produced by Pelle Gunnerfeldt and Beastie Boys’ Mike D, The Hives promised in a lengthy message to fans that The Hives Forever Forever The Hives will be their best effort yet.
“This message is to inform you that International Rock Sensation The Hives, the best live band on the planet and still your new favourite band, lauded on all continents for their masterful skill and reckless abandon in the rock music field, have once again, sooner than you expected, created a new body of work the likes of which have never been heard or indeed probably will again,” the statement reads.
”A new record so full of energy, joy, anger and life that you will be questioning reality as you have known it. They finally did it. Every single song a single, every single single a hit, every hit a direct hit in the face of the man.”
To prove the album’s greatness, The Hives have shared lead single ‘Enough Is Enough’. It’s pretty much what you would expect from the Swedes, with the band declaring, “Who in their right mind would start a song like this? No one but The Hives. They are here again sooner than you expected and they have had enough of everyone at this point. Hence the title. Dig? Dig.”

The Hives have also announced a massive world tour that includes a stop in Australia, although Adelaide misses out once again.
The lads are hitting Fremantle’s Metropolis on Thursday, July 17, Melbourne’s the Forum on Saturday, July 19, Sydney’s Enmore Theatre on Wednesday, July 23 and Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall on Thursday, July 24.
