Victoria’s Beyond the Valley festival returns this New Year’s Eve with organisers dropping a teaser video hinting at this year’s theme: Experience Life In Technicolour.

The short video posted to Beyond the Valley’s social media accounts features references to classic flicks Pleasantville and The Wizard Of Oz along with namedropping Peggy Gou, Joy Anonymous and Teenage Dads.

“We wanted to take a different approach to launch Beyond The Valley this year,” co-founder and Managing Partner of Untilted Group, Christian Serrao, said in a statement.

“Amid ongoing discussions surrounding the challenges festivals face globally, we aim to remind everyone of the joy and vibrancy that festivals bring to people’s lives. Our teaser video encapsulates this by portraying ordinary life as dull and monochrome, which comes to life and colour through Beyond The Valley.”

Beyond the Valley takes place from December 27 2024 to January 1 2025. More news concerning the festival will be revealed in the coming weeks. Follow Beyond the Valley’s social media accounts to keep up to date.

Post Malone Reveals F-1 Trillion Tracklisting

Image via @postmalone (Facebook)

Post Malone has gone full country if the tracklisting to his upcoming album F-1 Trillion is anything to go by.

The 18-track release includes collaborations with Tim McGraw, Black Shelton, Morgan Wallen, Dolly Parton, Brad Paisley, Luke Combs and more.

It’s an interesting move from Posty that does come off as a bit of a cash grab, especially considering how hot country is at the moment. On the flip side, Malone is known to be a country music fan and got his start posting guitar covers on YouTube, so it’s not a huge stretch for him to release a country-themed record.

Whatever your thoughts, this is shaping up as another huge hit for Malone, with the album’s first single, ‘I Had Some Help’ featuring Morgan Wallen, going straight to the top of the Billboard Hot 100.

F-1 Trillion is released Friday, August 16. You can pre-order/pre-save the album here and check out the tracklisting below.

90s Rap Great Chino XL Passess Away At 50

Bronx rapper Chino XL passed away earlier this week at the age of 50. The news was shared on social media by his daughters who wrote:

“Our father had many titles — King of Punchlines, Puerto Rican Superhero — but the most important one was Girl Dad. And what he gave us most in that role was his strength, straightforwardness, and ability to be super realistic. The main thing we are feeling now is that our Dad is at peace, and so we are at peace.”

Born Derek Emmanuel Barbosa, Chino XL got an early start in the rap game, forming the group Art of Origin as a pre-teen before getting signed by Rick Rubin at age 16. He dropped his debut album, Here to Save You All, in 1996 and had great success with singles, ‘No Complex’ and ‘Kreep’.

Signing with Warner Brothers in 1997 and positioned as the next big thing, it all went wrong for Chino XL when he encountered label troubles resulting in his sophomore album being constantly delayed. I Told You So didn’t see the light of day until 2001, and although well received by critics, the hype behind Chino XL had died down and the album failed to make a dent in the charts.

Despite the setback, the Bronx spitter went on to have a successful career, releasing two more studio albums, 2006s Poison Pen and 2012s Ricanstruction: The Black Rosary, along with the collaborative records Something Sacred with Playalitical in 2008 and God’s Carpenter with Stu Bangas in 2023.
