The Superjesus Drop New Single ‘We Won’t Let Go Until It’s Over’
Adelaide rockers The Superjesus are back with new single ‘We Won’t Let Go Until It’s Over’.
Anyone who’s a fan of the band will dig the alt-rock vibes of the tune, with frontwoman Sarah McLeod’s inspirational lyrics powering the guitar-centric single.
In a statement about the music video for the single, McLeod revealed the band “shot this in 2 hours between landing in Mackay and going to soundcheck last week. I wrote a treatment and a shot list on the plane, swung by Harvey Norman to grab a steady cam holder thing for my iPhone and went out to a friend’s farm to see what we could pull together on the spot.”
She continued, “We got my mate Elly to shoot from the buggy, she roped her mate Julie in to drive the buggy and off we went.”
McLeod also made sure to thank “Louis the cow” for his input in the video.

Frank Turner attempting to break the world record for most gigs in 24 hours
Punk-turned-folk singer Frank Turner is aiming to get his name in the Guinness Book of Records this May. The former vocalist of Million Dead is attempting to make history by performing the most gigs over a 24-hour period.
Taking place from 12:30am on Saturday, May 4 to midday Sunday, May 5, the world record attempt coincides with the release of Turner’s tenth album, Undefeated.
The current record is held by American singer Hunter Hayes, who played ten gigs in one day a decade ago. Turner has booked in 15 shows that take him all across the UK, from Liverpool to Southhampton.
All 15 shows are being organised by independent record stores, with the gigs including two in-store performances while the rest are streetside.
As per the Guinness rulebook, each city must be at least 31 miles apart and have a minimum population of 15,000. The performances must also be 20 minutes in length.
“Come hang out friends,” Turner said on his Instagram. “This is going to be one for the books.”

Metallica’s James Hetfield gets finger tattoo with Lemmy’s ashes
It doesn’t get any more rock and roll than getting a tattoo with the ashes of your favourite musician. That’s exactly what Metallica vocalist and guitarist James Hetfield has done.
Metallica’s Instagram posted an image of Hetfield’s tribute to his late friend, Motorhead vocalist Lemmy Kilmister. The image shows Hetfield giving the middle finger, revealing his new tattoo.
The tatt is an ace of spades, referencing Motorhead’s most famous song. Nothing strange about that, until you read the caption that explains Lemmy’s ashes were mixed with the ink used for the tattoo.
“With the steady hand of friend and tattoo artist @coreymillertattoo, this tattoo. A salute to my friend and inspiration Mr. Lemmy Kilmister. Without him, there would be NO Metallica,” Hetfield writes in the caption. “Black ink mixed with a pinch of his cremation ashes that were so graciously given to me. So now, he is still able to fly the bird at the world.”
As for the rest of Lemmy’s ashes, as Metal Injection reports, some have been sent to his closest friends, such as Judas Priest’s Rob Halford, while some were taken to the German music festival Wacken Open Air and scattered across the fields. The last remaining ashes will be enshrined in the Rainbow Bar & Grill, one of Lemmy’s favourite watering holes.
The bar is inviting Motorhead fans to come by the bar and raise a toast to the fallen metal god by indulging in a shot of Motorhead’s new whiskey.
grimes apologies for Coachella meltdown
Grimes’ Saturday Coachella set on the Sahara stage was an absolute clusterfuck. Plagued with technical difficulties, Grimes resorted to shouting into her microphone in frustration throughout the shortened set.
She was forced to restart some of her songs several times due to tracks not synching up. Taking to Twitter to apologise for the stitch up, Grimes took ownership by blaming others.
“I want to apologise for the technical issues with the show tonight,” she said in a statement. “I wanted to come back really strong and usually I always handle every aspect of my show myself – to save time, this was one of the first times I’ve outsourced essential things like rekordbox bpm’s and letting someone else organise the tracks on the SD card etc.”
She promised that her set at weekend two of the festival “will be flawless” as “everything will run through my hands.”
The Allman Brothers Guitarist Dickey Bettes Passes Away
Co-founder of The Allman Brothers, Dickey Bettes, has sadly passed away at the age of 80.
Betts’ manager David Spero confirmed the guitarist's death with Rolling Stone after a battle with cancer and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
“It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that the Betts family announce the peaceful passing of Forrest Richard ‘Dickey’ Betts (December 12, 1943 – April 18, 2024) at the age of 80 years old,” the family revealed in a statement to Rolling Stone via Spero.
“The legendary performer, songwriter, bandleader, and family patriarch was at his home in Osprey, Florida, surrounded by his family. Dickey was larger than life, and his loss will be felt worldwide. At this difficult time, the family asks for prayers and respect for their privacy in the coming days. More information will be forthcoming at the appropriate time.”
Although he wasn’t in the limelight as much as the actual Allman brothers, Gregg and Duane, Bettes was an integral part of the band, writing their biggest hit, ‘Rambin’ Man'‘.
Leonardo DiCaprio Rumoured to play Frank Sinatra in new Biopic
Variety is reporting a Martin Scorsese-directed biopic about Rat Pack member Frank Sinatra is in the works, with Leonardo DiCaprio the first choice to play old Blue Eyes.
According to the report, Jennifer Lawrence is being tapped to play Sinatra’s second wife, actress Ava Gardner. But there’s one roadblock, Sinatra’s daughter Tina Sinatra. She controls her father’s estate and has yet to give her blessing on the project.
This hasn’t stopped Scorsese from putting the feelers out about the film, with both Apple and Sony interested in financing the flick.
