The venue in Adelaide’s south has a monster night of live music planned for this Saturday, April 27.
Adelaide’s nightlife has taken a hit of late, with the likes of Fat Controller and Enigma Bar closing and the Crown & Anchor under threat from developers. But it’s not all bad news, with a new live music venue opening in southern Adelaide.
Towballs Bar in the industrial area of Lonsdale (13 Aldenhoven Road Lonsdale) is a recently opened 150-person venue with a large stage and a modern in-house sound system and lighting setup.
A statement from venue owners explained that Towballs Bar aims to “take you back to the heady days when live rock bands ruled the social scene: the golden age when pub rock was exciting, friendly, good times.”
Resembling a giant shed with wine barrels as tables and lounges for those who want to chill, the venue offers a relaxed vibe with plenty of space to get jiggy with it in front of the stage.
The fully stocked bar has “club priced drinks” and a food truck on the premises so you won’t go hungry.
There’s already been a stack of great local bands who’ve played Towballs Bar over the past few months, including Heatwave and the AC/DC All Stars.
This weekend Towballs Bar has one of its biggest gigs yet, with Crash Course Budgie, fresh from selling out the Gov last year, performing all the hits of the legendary Welsh heavy metal act Budgie.
Support comes from local hard rockers Loaded Billy and cover act The Wayward Ones, who will be playing classic blues and rock hits from the 70s 80s and 90s.
All the action kicks off from 8pm this Saturday, April 27 with pre-sale tickets just $15 via TryBooking or $20 at the door.
So get down to Towballs Bar this Saturday for a night of awesome rock at Adelaide’s newest live music venue.
