British Metalcore Giants While She Sleeps Announce 2024 Australian Tour
The tour comes after the band performed as part of last year’s Good Things Festival lineup.
UK metalcore quintet While She Sleeps are returning to Australia this year for their biggest tour yet.
After forming part of the Good Things 2023 lineup, the ‘Silence Speaks’ ragers have announced a run of seven dates across the country this September and October.
Touring in support of their sixth album, 2024s Self Hell, the band begins their time Down Under with a gig at The Tivoli in Brisbane on Friday, September 27. This is followed by shows at King St Bandroom in Newcastle on Saturday, September 28 and Liberty Hall in Sydney on Sunday, September 29.
While She Sleeps then hit Uni Bar in Wollongong on Tuesday, October 1, Magnet House in Perth on Thursday, October 3, The Gov in Adelaide on Friday, October 4 and finish at the Forum Theatre in Melbourne on Saturday, October 5, which will be their largest headline show in Australia.
Support comes in the form of veteran American hardcore act Stick To Your Guns, local talents Ocean Sleeper and Connecticut metalcore act Boundaries.
Forming in Sheffield in 2006, While She Sleeps has slowly elevated themselves to the top of Britain’s metalcore scene. Throughout their nearly two decade career, the band has dropped three EPs and six studio albums while touring the world several times over.
Last year’s Self Hell – produced by guitarist Sean Long and frequent collaborator Carl Brown – received unanimous praise from rock critics, with Kerrang!’s Rishi Shah calling the album “fearless” and giving it four out of five stars.
The band appear pumped to be returning to Australia, releasing a statement declaring; “Australia, we’re not coming to f*** spiders!” The statement continues; “We are stoked to be returning to one of our favourite places in the world with our biggest ever AUS tour to date, playing some of our favourite venues,” the statement continues.
“The Forum in Melbourne has been on our bucket list since we did it with In Hearts Wake in 2017, and we can’t wait to show Australia what we’ve been working on. Bringing with us a heavy line up of hard hitting bands from across the world, the bill has something for everyone and the shows are gonna be chaos.”
