Melbourne-based metalcore beasts Windwaker have announced their biggest-ever headline Australian tour.

Windwaker’s Hyperviolence tour shares its name with the band’s most recently released album and sees the quintet hitting the road across January and February 2025.

“We’re so excited to hit the road and finally bring our new album Hyperviolence to life on stages all across Australia!” says the band. “This record was made to be experienced live, and we’ve gone all in to make sure we deliver on our biggest and best shows yet. We can't wait to share the stage with some of our favourite acts, we've made sure these are shows that you don't want to miss.”

Windwaker’s seven-date Hyperviolence tour begins in Brisbane at the Princess Theatre on Thursday, January 30. The band then have dates lined up in Newcastle at the Newcastle Hotel on Friday, January 31, Sydney’s Manning Bar on Saturday, February 1, Albury’s Beer Deluxe on Sunday, February 2, Adelaide’s UniBar on Thursday, February 6 and Melbourne’s 170 Russell on Friday, February 7, before bringing the tour to a close at Perth’s Amplifier Bar on Saturday, February 8.

Joining Windwaker on the road are San Diego post-hardcore wreckers With Thousand Below, NSW metal battlers Diamond Construct and emerging Brisbane metal act Headwreck.

Named after The Legend of Zelda video game, Windwaker have been out there getting it done for a decade. In that time Windwaker, currently comprising lead vocalist Liam Guinane, guitarist Jesse Crofts, bassist Indey Salvestro, synthist Connor Robins and drummer Chris Lalic, have released three EPs – Fade (2017), Empire (2019) and Enter the Wall (2024) – along with two studio albums, Love Language (2022) and Hyperviolence (2024).

Windwaker’s Hyperviolence has been well received by the metal community, with Wall of Sound awarding the record 9/10 and calling it “Windwaker’s magnum opus.”
