Three years on since Wet Leg dropped their Grammy Award-winning self-titled debut, the Isle of Wight five-piece are back with new single, ‘catch these fists’, taken from the band’s upcoming sophomore record, moisturizer.
Formed by vocalist and guitarist Rhian Teasdale and fellow finger picker Hester Chambers in 2019, the band also includes bassist Ellis Durand, drummer Henry Holmes and guitarist/synth player Joshua Mobaraki.
Arriving July 11 via Domino (pre-order here), moisturizer is produced by Dan Carey (Foals, O., Fontaines D.C.) and features writing credits from all five members of the band. Decamping to Southwold, Norfolk, the band spent their days in the studio writing and recording before gathering together in the evening to watch horror movies.
“We were just kind of having fun and exploring,” says Chambers about the recording process.
“We focused on: Is this going to be fun to play live? It was very natural that we would write the second record together,” adds Teasdale.

Wet Leg also shared lead single ‘catch these fists’, a dynamic uptempo rocker with a riff to die for. It’s a punchy tune that makes you want to get up and dance, and if it’s any indication of what to expect from moisturizer, prepare for another chart-topping record chock-full of guitar rock gems you’ll be hearing everywhere.
Accompanying the song is a film clip directed by the band that takes inspiration from directors Ti West (the X film series, The House of the Devil) and Cameron Crowe (Almost Famous, Jerry Maguire), along with the band’s own ‘Wet Dream’ music video.
