At The Drive-In/The Mars Volta Documentary Now Available To Stream

Omar and Cedric: If This Ever Gets Weird, the highly publicised documentary about At the Drive-In and The Mars Volta founders Omar Rodríguez-López and Cedric Bixler-Zavala, is finally available to stream.
The doco traces the journey of Rodríguez-López and Bixler-Zavala throughout their careers and is now accessible on Amazon Prime. Pulled together from 100s of hours of home video footage shot by Rodríguez-López, the documentary charts the duo’s early days fronting At the Drive-In to the creation of The Mars Volta. The film also features interviews and live footage.
“Filmed over a period of 20+ years by founding member of At The Drive In and The Mars Volta, Omar Rodríguez-López, and containing remarkable footage from 100s of hours of Omar’s self-shot material – this is a totally unique window into the incredible journey of one of this generations most progressive and prolific musical partnerships,” reads the YouTube trailer description.
Directed by Nicolas Jack Davies, the documentary originally premiered way back in October 2023 at the Raindance Film Festival. The film was also shown at the Melbourne International Film Festival and received a limited release in select cinemas in November 2024.
Now available to stream online, a physical release of Omar and Cedric: If This Ever Gets Weird arrives on February 25.

To coincide with the physical release of Omar and Cedric: If This Ever Gets Weird, The Mars Volta have announced a 16-date North American and Canadian tour.
Taking place throughout September and October 2025, the tour also comes in support of the band’s 2022 self-titled album, their first since 2012s Noctourniquet.
Before that, The Mars Volta are hitting the road alongside Deftones and Fleshwater for a massive run of shows across the US.
