After releasing her debut single, ‘Break Me Down’, in October of last year, Little Dragon vocalist Yukimi Nagano has released two more singles from her upcoming solo album.
‘Sad Makeup’ and ‘Winter Is Not Dead’ are taken from Yukimi’s For You, arriving via Ninja Tune on March 28 (pre-save/pre-order here). ‘Sad Makeup’ is a slow tempo number built around an acoustic guitar riff while ‘Winter Is Not Dead’ is a sparse wonderland highlighting Yukimi’s incredible voice.
“I want this music to really be a force to connect people to each other, and step away from the madness of everything on the planet right now,” Yukimi said in a press release. “I’m excited about embarking on that journey on my own—the expression really feels pure.”
The album features several high-profile collaborations with Lianne La Havas and De La Soul’s Posdnous both appearing alongside Yukimi’s father, Yusuke Nagano.
