BADBADNOTGOOD Announce Australian Tour Kicking Off This December

The psychedelic jazz trio are touring in support of their 2024 album, Mid Spiral.

Few instrumental acts are as entertaining as Canada’s BADBADNOTGOOD. The trio of bassist Chester Hansen, keyboardist Matthew Tavares and drummer Alexander Sowinski have been thrilling audiences with their psychedelic jazz compositions since 2010, and now Aussie fans can catch these groovemasters when they tour this December.

Taking to Instagram to announce their Aussie visit, the band shared the following statement: “To our friends down under!! We’re bringing the Mid Spiral 🌀 large ensemble tour to Australia 🇦🇺 Our first time back in years! Tickets on sale Wednesday, Oct 3rd at noon local time. Thanks for your patience and support.”

The band’s Mid Sprial tour, named after their 2024 album of the same name, begins in Perth at The Rechabite on Tuesday, December 3. The trio then heads to Adelaide’s Hindley Street Music Hall on Thursday, December 5, Sydney’s Enmore Theatre on Saturday, December 7 and Brisbane’s The Tivoli on Sunday, December 8. They wrap things up with a final concert at Melbourne’s Palais Theatre on Wednesday, December 11 before heading home.

Those keen on tickets can grab them early via the Mastercard (Monday, September 30 from 10:30am local time) and Live Nation pre-sales (Tuesday, October 1 from 10:30am). General admission tickets will be available from 11:30am on Wednesday, October 2.

Returning to our shores for the first time in eight years, expect to hear plenty of tracks from BADBADNOTGOOD’s latest release Mid Spiral, along with fan favourites such as ‘Time Moves Slow’, ‘Running Away’ and ‘In Your Eyes’.

Mid Spiral, the band’s 18-track behemoth is split into three sections – Mid Spiral: Chaos, Mid Spiral: Order and Mid Spiral: Growth – and includes collaborations with Felix Fox-Pappas, Kaelin Murphy, Juan Carlos Medrano Magallenes and Tyler Lott.
