Queensland surf rock troublemakers Beddy Rays are embarking on a 12-date tour across the country this August and September.
The ‘Schooner or Later’ tour will see Beddy Rays knock the top off a few froths as they bring the party vibes to cities and towns around Australia.
“It’s tour o’clock here at Beddys HQ and we’re super duper excited to hit the road and play some rip snorta rock shows across the country in front of you legends,” the band said in a statement. “We’re hitting some of our favourite venues across the country and will be cheersing beers with you lot quicker than you can say ‘giddy up’! Grab your tickets now and we’ll see ya when we’re lookin’ at ya!”
The good times begin in Mackay at Seabreeze on Thursday, August 8 and continue throughout August at venues in Airlie Beach, Cairns, Melbourne, Darwin and Sydney. The September leg of the tour kicks off in Margaret River before the band heads to Perth, Adelaide, Launceston and Hobart, ending the tour with a bang at The Triffid in Brisbane on Saturday, September 21.
Those super keen to catch Beddy Rays in their town can sign up for pre-sale tickets that go on sale Thursday, May 30 at 9:30am local time. General sale commences Friday, May 31 at 9:30am local time via Handsome Tours.
Primary school mates turned band members, Beddy Rays have been on one hell of a run since dropping their debut single, ‘Sobercoaster’, back in 2000. The cracking tune is certified Gold and has over 10 million streams, becoming a backyard favourite throughout the summer of 2000.
The awesome foursome of vocalist and guitarist Jackson Van Issum, guitarist Lewis McKenna, bassist Bradley O'Connor and drummer Benjamin Wade kept the momentum going with a slew of rocking singles, leading to the release of their self-titled studio album in 2022.
The record peaked at #8 on the ARIA Album Chart and was nominated for the Michael Gudinski Breakthrough Artist Award. The 14-track release received universal praise, with rock bible Kerrang! awarding it 4/5 and calling it one of the best albums of 2022.
Beddy Rays are believed to be working on a follow-up to their debut and have so far released several singles, including the groovy ‘Silverline’.
You don’t want to miss the larrikin lads when they hit Adelaide this September for what promises to be a wild night of live music, brews and shenanigans.
