Emerging American country singer Cody Pennington has unveiled his latest single, ‘Whiskey’s Better’.
Produced by Ryan Hadlock (Zach Bryan, The Lumineers), ‘Whiskey’s Better’ is a fantastic showcase of Pennington’s gritty vocals ahead of his upcoming Australian tour.
Speaking on the tour, Pennington says, “I am so grateful to the universe for putting me where I am. I get to earn a living playing sold-out tours and writing music I love. My first EU tour sold out months in advance, and we have seen such a big growth in listeners over there. AU ticket sales are also picking up – Brisbane just sold out! It’s so exciting to be able to get on the road and connect directly with my fans. We’ll be playing ‘Whiskey’s Better’ on our tours in the EU, AU and UK this year, so learn those lyrics! Thank you to all my fans, family, and friends in the industry for making my career possible.”
Pennington’s Aussie jaunt is sandwiched between a sold-out tour of Europe in early May and a run of shows across the UK in September. Commencing with a gig in Perth at Metro City on Friday, May 23, Pennington follows this with shows at Adelaide’s The Gov on Monday, May 26, Melbourne’s Max Watts on Tuesday, May 27, Canberra’s UC Refectory on Wednesday, May 28 and Sydney’s Manning Bar on Friday, May 30. The final two concerts take place at Newcastle’s The NEX on Saturday, May 31, and Brisbane’s The Trifid on Sunday, June 1.
