DZ Deathrays Announce ‘Black Rat’ 10 Year Anniversary Tour

The lads are celebrating with a national tour and exclusive anniversary white vinyl re-release limited to just 300 copies worldwide.

It’s hard to believe DZ Deathrays’ sophomore album is turning ten this year. Black Rat marked the coming of age of Shane Parsons and Simon Ridley, with the album receiving favourable reviews and spawning three awesome singles: ‘Northern Lights’, ‘Gina Works At Hearts’ and ‘Reflective Skull’. In celebration of the anniversary, the Brisbane band are hitting the road this June/July, performing Black Rat in full at each show along with all your other favourite DZ tunes.

The ‘Black Rat 10th Anniversary Tour’ kicks off in Sydney at Manning Bar on Friday, June 14. The lads will then hit The Triffid in Brisbane on Saturday, June 22, Melbourne’s Corner Hotel on Friday, June 28, Perth’s Rosemount Hotel on July 5, Hobart’s Altar on Friday, July 12, before ending things with a bang at The Gov on Saturday, 13 July. Released by I OH YOU in May 2014, Black Cat landed at #23 on the ARIA Albums Chart and took out the 2014 ARIA Awards for Best Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Album. Not bad for a couple of party lovers from Brisvegas. Since then the dynamic duo has recruited guitarist Lachlan Ewbank into the fold, along with touring bassist Luke Henery, and become one of Australia’s most fun live rock acts.

DZ Deathrays’ last album, 2023’s R.I.F.F, reached #8 on the ARIA Albums Chart, making it their third top-ten album. Gearing up for a tour of Canada before returning home for the ‘Black Rat 10th Anniversary Tour’, their gig at The Gov will be a raucous evening you don’t want to miss.
