Electric Six Announce ‘Greatest Hits’ Australian Tour
Get ready for some “fire in the disco” when Electric Six play The Gov this August.

Disco punk purveyors Electric Six have sparked excitement with the announcement of a nationwide tour this August.
Having just played a sold out Australian tour last year in celebration of the 20th anniversary of their debut album Fire, the band is returning for a string of dates playing all their biggest hits. The press release for the tour states that an Electric Six gig “is a concert, a theatrical experience and an art exhibit” all rolled into one, and if you’ve been lucky enough to catch them live, you’ll understand why this statement rings true.
Electric Six are renowned for their energetic live performances that combine disco rhythms and dirty rock guitars on songs about the seedier side of life. Not ones to take themselves seriously, Electric Six have built a cult fanbase who love nothing more than getting down on the dance floor with their funky compositions.
As the name of the tour implies, the tour setlist will be mainly made up of Electric Six’s greatest hits. So expect songs like ‘Danger! High Voltage’, ‘Gay Bar’, ‘Dance Commander’, Synthesizer’, ‘Down at McDonaldz’ and ‘I Buy The Drugs’ to get a look in.

It’s been almost 30 years since Electric Six first started making music, with their debut album, Fire, hitting number five on the US Billboard Top Electronic Album Charts in 2003. Since then the collective has gone on to record 15 studio albums, with their latest offering being 2023’s Turquoise. They've also released several concert films, a string of successful singles and continue to tour the globe regularly.Tickets for their show at The Gov are on sale Monday 4 March at 9 am via Oztix.
