Having won more fans during their 2023 tour, Japan’s Guitar Wolf return in 2025 with a huge run of shows across March and April.

Inspired by the Ramones, the Cramps and Joan Jett, Guitar Wolf have been rocking out for almost four decades and are pumped to be coming back to Australia. The trio have locked in both headline shows and festival spots and kick things off at Melbourne’s The Curtain on Friday, March 21.

Guitar Wolf then perform at Bambra Meadows Music Festival in Bambra on Saturday, March 22 and Jerkfest 10 at Barwon Club in Geelong on Saturday, March 22, before a bunch of solo gigs at Frankston’s Singing Bird Studios on Sunday, March 23, Thornbury’s Picture House on Monday, March 24, Bendigo’s Trash Cult on Wednesday, March 26 and Castlemaine’s The Bridge Hotel on Thursday, March 27.

Then the band are off to play Brisbane’s Crowbar on Friday, March 28, Sydney’s Factory Floor on Saturday, March 29, Adelaide’s Crown and Anchor on Thursday, April 3, Perth’s Seasonal Brewing on Friday, April 4 and Bunbury’s The Prince of Wales on Saturday, April 5, before bringing the tour to an end at Fremantle’s Buffalo Club on Sunday, April 6.

Describing their music as “jet rock 'n' roll,” Guitar Wolf have been ripping up stages across the globe since 1987. Throughout their career, Guitar Wolf have released 12 studio albums, with their most recent being 2019s Love & Jett.

First touring Australia in the late ‘90s, the band’s debut gig at the Tote has gone down in history as one of the venue’s greatest, with Guitar Wolf’s guitarist and lead vocalist Seiji riding on stage on the back of a motorcycle.

The current lineup of Seiji, bassist Gotz and drummer Takuro have been together since 2022, with the band’s goal to “single-mindedly pursu(e) an unchanging style and radiat(e) power that transcends time and space.”

Catch Guitar Wolf at Crown and Anchor on Thursday, April 3. Tickets on sale now via Moshtix.
