Japanese Sensation Hey-Smith Announce 2024 Australian Tour
The band will be supported by Voodoo Glow Skulls and The Resignators.
Japanese punk rockers Hey-Smith have announced their debut Australian tour. The raucous six-piece has locked in four shows this November with support coming from Cali punk greats Voodoo Glow Skulls and Melbourne’s own ska favourites The Resignators.
The whirlwind tour begins in Adelaide at The Gov on Wednesday, November 27. The tour then stops in Brisbane at The Brightside on Thursday, November 28 and The Factory Floor in Sydney on Friday, November 29, before coming to an end at the Ska Nation International Music Festival in Colac on Saturday, November 30.
Tickets for all shows go on sale this Thursday, June 20 at 8:30am local time. Adelaide and Brisbane fans can get tickets via Oztix, Sydney music lovers through Ticketsearch and those wanting to go to Ska Nation International Music Festival tickets can head to the festival’s website.
Hey-Smith was formed in 2006 in Osaka, Japan. They get their name from “Smith” being the initials of each member, and “Hey” sounding like they’re in a good mood.
The band is well known throughout their home country for their energetic live shows, which include a rollicking brass section. Hey-Smith has released nine albums across their nearly two-decade career, with 2023s Rest in Punk their most recent record.
Tickets for Hey Smith’s Adelaide show at The Gov on Wednesday, November 27 go on sale this Thursday, June 20 via Oztix.
