Coming hot on the heels of Peter Jackson’s 2021 documentary series The Beatles: Get Back, the film premieres on November 29 on Disney+.
Produced by the great Martin Scorsese and directed by David Tedeschi, the doco focuses on the Beatles’ first trip to America in February 1964. The film features a large amount of never-before-seen footage shot by filmmakers Albert and David Maysles. Tracing the band’s arrival to their famous appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show, the doco also contains new interviews with the two remaining Beatles, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr.
To coincide with the release of Beatles ‘64, the duo of McCartney and Starr are releasing The Beatles: 1964 U.S. Albums in Mono – a box set of albums that have been out of print since 1995. The records in the box set include Meet the Beatles!, The Beatles’ Second Album, A Hard Day’s Night (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack), Something New, The Beatles’ Story (2xLP), Beatles ‘65 and The Early Beatles.
