NICE DAY TO GO TO THE CLUB DROP 2024 LINEUP

Mark your calendars! Independent Mid Coast label Daybed Records has just dropped the lineup for the second iteration of its flagship festival, Nice Day To Go To The Club, and it’s hot.

Celebrating the old and new in Australia’s punk and garage scene, the all-ages event will see 16 bands play across two stages on the lush lawns of Port Noarlunga Football Club this February 2
Headline acts include The Mark Of Cain, Teenage Joans, Children Collide, The Meanies, C.O.F.F.I.N, Pist Idiots and West Thebarton. They will be supported by a slew of interstate bands like STIFF RICHARDS and The Pretty Littles, alongside a cast of local acts like Ethanol Blend, Molly Rocket, King Jeff & The How Are Yous, The Vains, Blush and Bend. Taking the festival bill international too, Berlin-based band S.U.G.A.R will also be heading to the Mid Coast party as part of their Australian tour.
The Mark of Cain have been a staple in South Australia’s post-punk scene since they debuted in 1989, re-releasing their seminal Henry Rollins-produced album Ill At Ease late last year. Best known for brooding, bass-heavy tracks like ‘Interloper’, the three-piece have inspired countless outfits in SA’s local scene for the last two decades.
SA-made Teenage Joans are one of Australia’s most exciting pop-punk bands to catch right now. The two-piece powerhouse have soared through the national music scene ever since taking out the top spot in triple j’s Unearthed High competition, releasing their debut album, The Rot That Grows Inside My Chest, and supporting the Foo Fighters in 2023.
Joining the two local-grown headliners is Children Collide, the 2005-born indie rockers hailing from Naarm/Melbourne. Since their reunion, they’ve released a string of crowd-ready tracks and a top-notch 12-track album in 2021. State mates and punk rock stalwarts The Meanies will also be flying in to jam out in the Mid Coast with a set that’ll whip through the biggest tracks from their two-decade music reign.
Adelaide favourites West Thebarton will also be making an appearance at Nice Day To Go To The Club. These punk rockers are firm favourites in The Note office and the seven-piece have a talent for commanding audiences and sending them into overdrive. In our last conversation with the band, frontman Ray Dalfsen said 2024 was going to be a big year for the outfit – we’re sure this set will live up to his expectations.
Nice Day To Go To The Club was Daybed Records' genius way of raising some much-needed funds to finish off the redevelopments at the Port Noarlunga Football Club in 2023. And, in line with the independent label's philanthropic streak, Daybed will once again use its flagship festival as a major fundraiser for the beloved Mid Coast footy club.
The all-ages festival is proudly supported by beer gurus, Young Henrys, and the Live Music Australia initiative launched by the Australian Government.

So rally the group chat! February 24 is shaping up to be a cracking day out at the Port Noarlunga Football Club, thanks to Daybed Records. Tickets to Nice Day To Go To The Club are on sale now. Buy them here. Check out the full lineup below. Poster artwork Sindy Sinn.
