Ex-Chats guitarist Pricey, known to his parents as Josh Price, has shared new single, ‘Bastards Never Change’.

A riff-tastic pub rocker imbued with true blue Aussie spirit, the song finds Pricey contemplating life and realising the privileged position he’s in that allows him to earn a living as a touring muso.

“The song came about during a recent tour with The Screaming Jets,” Pricey says. “As we travelled from venue to venue, I found myself gazing out the bus window when I noticed a homeless man holding a cup. In that moment, I didn’t just see him. I saw my reflection. It struck me how lucky I am to be living my dream, touring with a rock band, having fun, and doing what I love.”

Pricey adds: “This song isn’t about that man, it’s about me appreciating the blessings I have and recognizing the stark contrast of our lives. ‘Bastards Never Change’ is my way of expressing gratitude and resilience, inviting listeners to reflect on their own journeys.”

Making his mark as a founding member, songwriter and ex-guitarist of The Chats, Pricey left the group in 2022 to embark on his solo career, leading to the release of his debut record, On The Job.

He’s since gone on to release a slew of cracking singles, including ‘Day’ and ‘Smile’, both of which were released this year, and was recently announced as the support for Wheatus’ national tour in January and February next year.
