Folk duo The Dreggs has announced a bumper tour for this June in support of their debut album, Caught in a Reverie. Already booked for a bunch of shows on the East Coast before heading overseas and playing 16 dates across Europe throughout May, these extra gigs come in support of The Dreggs’ much-anticipated album.
The first show of the new tour kicks off in Adelaide at Hindley Street Music Hall on Friday, June 14. Then the ‘Give Myself to You’ singers head to Perth and play Metro City on Saturday, June 15, before moving on to Brisbane’s The Fortitude Music Hall on Friday, June 21 and Sydney’s Enmore Theatre on Friday, June 28, before wrapping up their Australian performances with a final gig in Melbourne at The Forum on Saturday, June 29.
The tour will finish with five shows in New Zealand, taking in Christchurch, Dunedin, Queenstown, Wellington and Auckland. Tickets for the tour go on sale via Moshtix tomorrow.
Founded by friends Paddy Macrae and Zane Harris in 2017, the Sunshine Coast act has slowly built a solid fan base across the country, releasing several singles and the well received EP, Seas Embrace. 2023 saw the band drop the singles ‘For Your Love’ and ‘Take a Little Time’ from their forthcoming debut album, along with playing a stack of shows around the country. This year has started just as impressively, with The Dreggs named triple j’s first Feature Artist for 2024, along with the lads being announced as part of this year’s Splendour in the Grass lineup, which is fantastic news.
Speaking about the upcoming tour, The Dreggs said, “With an album's worth of new material, we can't wait to head out to play these brand new songs live. For anyone that's been to one of our shows in the past, you know the drill... for any first timers, warm up those voices! Let's make these shows nights to remember.”
Performing with The Dreggs will be Aussie singer-songwriter GRAACE, with opening support coming from the indie folk project This New Light.
Tickets for The Dreggs at Hindley Street Music Hall are on sale via Moshtix on Wednesday, March 27 at 9:30 am local time.
