New South Wales indie rockers The Terrys are back with the feel-good new single, ‘Stay Free’.

The second teaser taken from their upcoming self-titled album, ‘Stay Free’ is a joyful indie tune featuring frontman Jacob "Finchie" Finch’s trademark vocals. There’s something about ‘Stay Free’, and The Terrys in general that gives you a warm feeling in your belly. This is authentic guitar music the whole family can enjoy.

Speaking on the inspiration for the song, the band explains: “2024 was the most challenging year we've faced as a band yet. It was also easily the most fun we've ever had.

“On an average morning, The Terry's would wake up feeling like a dropped meat pie. Asking the question, 'Are the good times over already?'… next thing we knew, we come to onstage with all our mates, playing a sold-out show in a fancy city like Paris, or Wagga Wagga. We reckon life is often a laugh-or-cry situation. We choose to laugh and 'Stay Free' is our anthem for it. Oh yeah, it's also our second single off our forthcoming self-titled album. 2025 is the year of the tezza's baby!”

Hailing from the coastal town of Gerringong in NSW, The Terrys had a breakthrough year in 2024. Their sophomore album, Skate Pop, debuted at #2 on the ARIA Album Chart and was also chosen by triple j as the Feature Album on the week.

The five-piece comprising vocalist Jacob Finch, lead guitarist Lukas Anderson, rhythm guitarist Ben Salvatori, bassist Trent Cooper and drummer Cameron Cooper also spent much of last year on tour, selling out shows across Australia, New Zealand, Europe and the UK.

The Terrys celebrated the festive season with performances at Beyond the Valley, Chasing Tides, and Hay Park. In February they will take to the stage at Over the Ditch alongside an epic lineup that includes The Temper Trap, Jack River, and Cub Sport.

The Terrys’ self-titled third album arrives later this year. You can stream ‘Stay Free’ here.
