This week has seen a stack of new tunes released by local acts, including indie rockers The Tullamarines.

‘Running on Empty’ is a scrumptious slice of indie pie showcasing everything great about the Adelaide quartet. Josh, Angus, Benny, and Lucinda have really outdone themselves with this one - swirling harmonies pairing beautifully with the uplifting instrumentation. Bravo!

Discussing the inspiration for the track, frontman Ben Waltho explains: “I’d just had what I’ve come to know as an anxiety attack whilst we were touring, and I was struggling hard. On the flight home, I wrote some pretty horrible stuff in my notes app, and then left it for a bit to try and talk to everyone and get some help. When I had a bit more free space to think, I started to write little songs from those notes, which sparked ‘Running On Empty’.”

The vulnerability and honesty shown by Waltho is something that runs through The Tullamarines’ work, with each member’s distinct personality shining through on ‘Running on Empty’, making it another awesome head-nodding tune from the rising four-piece.
