Jack Black Says Tenacious D Will ‘be BAck’

Just like the Terminator, Tenacious D will “be back”, at least according to frontman Jack Black.

After the band courted controversy in Australia when Kyle Gass made a joke about Donald Trump’s failed assassination attempt, Black went into damage control mode, cancelling the rest of their Australian tour dates, putting the band’s future in doubt. But it seems Tenacious D will return in the near future.

“We need to take a break. Everybody needs a break sometime,” Black told Variety‘s Marc Malkin at the Borderlands premiere on Tuesday night. “And we’ll be back.”

Black also revealed he’s spoken with Gass and there is no drama between the two. “Yeah, we’re friends. That hasn’t changed. These things take time sometimes… And we’ll be back when it feels right.”

“Look what I wore today: I wore the Pick of Destiny,” Black mentioned in the interview. “I love Tenacious D. It’s probably my favourite job, if you can call it that. It’s a work of art, it’s my baby.”

Fingers crossed when Black does decide to bring back Tenacious D the band makes Australia their first port of call.

Drake Releases 100GB of Unreleased Material

Image via @Drake (Facebook)

Drake is doing his best to get music fans back on his side by surprise dropping over 100GB of data on the newly launched website 100 Gigs for Your Headtop.

The majority of the material is behind-the-scenes footage of Drizzy in the studio, on tour, filming music videos and rehearsing. Amongst all the data are three unreleased tracks: ‘It’s Up’ featuring Young Thug and 21 Savage, ‘Housekeeping Knows’ featuring Latto and the Gordo produced ‘Blue Green Red’.

The surprise drop of all this unreleased material comes after Drake went toe to toe with Kendrick Lamar in the biggest rap beef since Drake took down Meek Mill in 2015. Drizzy and Lamar traded shots for several months, with Lamar kicking things off in March with ‘Like That’.

Drake came back with ‘Push Ups’ and ‘Taylor Made Freestyle’ before Lamar hit him with ‘Euphoria’ and ‘6:18 in LA’. Drake took things up a notch with ‘Family Matters’ only to have Lamar reply with ‘Meet the Grahams’ 20 minutes later, followed by the #1 Billboard Hot 100 single, ‘Not Like Us’.

Although Drake did have another crack with ‘The Heart Part 6’, K-Dot had been declared the winner with Drake left to lick his wounds.

You can download all 100GB of data at 100gigs.org.

Cold Chisel frontman Jimmy Barnes has been forced to postpone the remaining dates of his upcoming solo tour after being rushed to hospital for emergency surgery earlier this week (August 6).

Taking to social media to alert fans, Barnes said “I’ve got some bad news unfortunately. I had a twinge in my hip when I was leaving Dunedin on Thursday morning and by late last night the pain was unbearable so I went off to hospital.”

While he is expected to make a full recovery, the doctors have ruled him out from touring for at least six weeks, meaning Barnes will be unable to complete his forthcoming solo dates.

He added: “As you know, I hate to let anyone down, but I’m also never going to compromise the quality of my gigs,” Barnes said in a statement. “I apologise for the inconvenience this will cause everyone – I HATE moving shows! - but thank you for understanding.”

Those with tickets for the postponed August and September dates will be contacted with details regarding rearranged shows.
