Missy Higgins To Be Inducted Into the ARIA Hall of FAme

Singer-songwriter Missy Higgins is to be inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame at this year’s ceremony on Wednesday, November 20.

The news comes as the nine-time ARIA Award winner is having a mini-career resurgence, with her nationwide The Sound of White tour – celebrating the 20th anniversary of her debut album – selling out shows across the country.

Higgins’ storied career has seen her release six albums, her most recent being this year’s The Second Act, score two ARIA Single Chart #1s and perform extensively in Australia and overseas.

Speaking on her induction, Higgins said: “I feel very honoured and grateful. So many artists I love and admire are in the ARIA Hall Of Fame so it feels a bit surreal to be joining them. This year has already been really special, now this is going to make it even more memorable.”

Aerosmith’s Final Live Performance Uploaded To YouTube

After being forced to retire from touring due to a vocal injury sustained by frontman Steven Tyler, fans can now enjoy Aerosmith’s final performance on YouTube.

Concertgoer and live music lover Toshi Aizawa has uploaded Aerosmith’s last live show to YouTube in 4k, and according to the video’s caption, with “better sound.”

The band’s final show took place on September 9 at UBS Arena in Elmont, New York and features Aerosmith playing their biggest hits, including ‘Janie’s Got a Gun’, ‘Sweet Emotion’, ‘Dream On’, ‘Walk This Way’, ‘I Don’t Want To Miss a Thing’ and more.

Barack Obama REveals 2024 Summer Playlist

Ever since he was elected to the position of President of the United States of America, Barack Obama has made an effort to share all the songs he’s been listening to over the summer.

While he might no longer be in office, the former POTUS continues to reveal his summer playlist, with this year’s featuring another eclectic range of artists Obama has been bumping.

Taking to X to share his 40-track playlist, Obama wrote: “With summer winding down, I wanted to share some songs that I’ve been listening to lately – and it wouldn’t be my playlist if it didn’t include an eclectic mix. I hope you find something new to listen to!”

His playlist includes tunes from Charli XCX, 2Pac, Sting, Cleo Sol, The Rolling Stones, Jill Scott, The Supremes and Billie Eilish.

Bonobo Drops New Single ‘Expander’

UK DJ and producer Bonobo returns with new single ‘Expander’. Released via Ninja Tune, the song is a dazzling electronic dance floor filler that’s been a staple of Bonobo’s live sets.
 
Taking to Instagram to announce the release, Bonobo said: “Expander is out today! Been playing this one all summer. Feels great to share it finally. Live everywhere now.”

The release comes as Bonobo continues to curate his sell out OUTLIER sets that feature Bonobo alongside a string of world-famous DJs. His next OUTLIER show takes place at Colorado's infamous Red Rocks Amphitheatre and features support slots from label mates Barry Can’t Swim and Sofia Kourtesis, as well as Vancouver-based electronic artist Yu Su.

Bunnings Rave Sells Out in Less Than One Minute

Peking Duk and What So Not’s much-hyped Bunnings rave is officially going ahead. Not only that, but it sold out in less than a minute.

The outdoor rave will be held on Saturday, 31 August in the Preston Bunnings’ car park at 64-74 Bell Street, Melbourne. As it’s at a Bunnings, there will be a sausage sizzle along with merch up for grabs, with all proceeds going towards the Australian music charity Support Act.

Peking Duk will play previously unreleased music while 19-year-old DJ Kaila, who came up with the idea for the rave, will also be playing.


AURORA Announces 2025 Australian TOur

Norwegian indie-pop songstress AURORA is heading back to Australia in 2025 as part of her current world tour.

Although only just in Oz last year, AURORA is keen on returning, having locked in four dates across the country in support of her new album, What Happened To The Heart?.

Kicking off in Fremantle at Fremantle Prison on Thursday, February 6, AURORA then performs at Sydney’s Horden Pavilion on Sunday, February 9, MCA in Melbourne on Tuesday, February 11 and Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall on Thursday, February 13.

Sadly AURORA isn’t coming to Adelaide, so fans keen on seeing her perform will need to grab tickets today, Friday, August 16 from 10:30am via Secret Sounds.
