Perfect Pair: Doozy Peach Half & Half X ‘A Little Less Conversation’ by JXL vs Elvis Presley

Tumblers and turntables at the ready...

TASTING NOTES

doozy Peach Half & Half: In the ’60s, trailblazing golfer Arnold Palmer asked for a half lemonade, half iced tea at a country club bar. Curious punters copied his order and soon, the King of Golf was equally famous for this drink as he was his swing. Today, it sounds like a mix someone in the third quarter of their life might enjoy. However, doozy has spiked this classic concoction with vodka to create a refreshing RTD that reports an impressive 6% ABV. The result? An easy-drinking party starter for punters whose parents were probably still in nappies when Palmer coined the iconic recipe.

SLEEVE NOTES

‘A Little Less Conversation: Elvis Presley vs JXL’: What does Elvis Presley and Nike’s 2002 FIFA World Cup advert have in common? Not much, besides from one hip-swinging triumphant track. ‘A Little Less Conversation’ was the song of the summer in 2002 – five decades after The King of Rock released it in ’68. The original song peaked at No.69 on the US Billboard charts. However, when Dutch producer JXL spiked the three-minute-thirty radio edit with big beats and a funky electro rhythm, it hit No.1 in over 20 countries. You probably fell in love with this better-than-the-original track when it featured in 2004's Shark Tale.

THEY’RE PERFECTLY PAIRED BECAUSE...

Palmer and Elvis Presley are considered Kings because of their immense talents, but that doesn’t mean things attached to their legacy can’t be toyed with. The re-invention of ‘A Little Less Conversation’ and a Half & Half by some innovative creators (doozy and JXL) bring both into the modern era, turning the dial towards fun with fresh ingredients (you know, vodka and bass). With a respectful nod to initial formulas, the refreshing track and drink fly past the success of its retro forefathers to deliver something that’ll get us Gen Z-ers grooving. Whether that’s due to the beat or booze is left to be determined...
