Let’s Live’ is the cathartic new song from art-rockers The Yellow Wallpaper. It’s the final chapter in the band’s trilogy of singles, which began in 2023 with the grungy ‘Tell Me To Beg’ and later followed by ‘Run Your Mouth’. However, this concluding track is one of post-rock beauty.
Exploring themes of loss, struggle and recovery, ‘Let’s Live’ is a hypnotic slow burner with shades of Explosions in the Sky and Radiohead. The song effortlessly builds towards its euphoric climax – an audible assault of crunching guitars, punishing percussion and soaring vocals – before giving way to a gentle guitar riff and vocalist Troy Benson’s pleading final chorus of ‘Hold on / Let’s live’.
Sounds like: It belongs in a Michael Mann movie.
