Heavy metal pirates Alestorm are setting sail for Australian shores in 2025. The Scottish five-piece last performed in the country in 2019 and are ready to plunder Down Under, locking in six shows across February and March.

The band then perform in Sydney at the Roundhouse on Saturday, March 1 before the final legs of the whirlwind tour in Canberra at The Baso on Sunday, March 2 and the Princess Theatre in Brisbane on Tuesday, March 4.

Joining Alestorm on tour are NEKROGOBLIKON, the self-proclaimed ‘Kings of Goblin Metal’ who are making their first trip to Australia.

Alestorm has gained a reputation for their chaotic live performances that combine pirate rock with heavy metal tropes.

Although the band have gone through several lineup changes over the years, the current iteration has been settled since 2015 and consists of sole original member Christopher Bowes (vocals/keytar) alongside Gareth Murdock (bass), Peter Alcorn (drums), Elliot Vernon (keyboard/harsh vocals) and Máté "Bobo" Bodor (guitar).

The band’s most recent album was Seventh Rum of a Seventh Rum, which dropped to mixed reviews in 2022, although both Blabbermouth and Sonic Perspectives gave it a solid 7/10.

Catch Alestorm at The Gov on Thursday, February 27. Tickets on sale today via Oztix.
