UK hard rockers British Lion are touring Australia for the very first time this August and September.
The side project of Iron Maiden bassist Steve Harris, British Lion is hugely popular with heavy music fans, having released two albums since forming in 2012, the most recent being 2020s The Burning.
“We're really excited to be able to play our first ever shows in Australia and New Zealand,” says Harris in a press statement about the tour. “We've been to the US before, but this is our first time to the West Coast! And to top it off, we'll also be returning to Japan to complete what I'm sure will be a fantastic tour! We look forward to seeing you all on the road!"
The band’s tour kicks off in Perth at Magnet House on Saturday, August 31. The five-piece then perform in Adelaide at Lion Arts Factory on Tuesday, September 3, at the Croxton Bandroom in Melbourne on Thursday, September 5 and at The Triffid in Brisbane on Monday, September 9. British Lion end the tour with a final show in Sydney at Manning Bar on Wednesday, September 11.
Touring alongside British Lion is Tony Moore’s Awake, the latest project from the former Iron Maiden keyboardist.
Tickets for all shows go on sale at 9:30am today via Hardline Media.
Comprising Harris (bass, keyboards), Richard Taylor (vocals), David Hawkins (guitar, keyboards), Grahame Leslie (guitar) and Simon Dawson (drums), British Lion released their 10-track self-titled debut album in 2012 to widespread acclaim, with Kerrang! calling it “a brilliant album.”
They followed this up with The Burning in 2020, another well-received release containing the singles ‘Spit Fire’, ‘Lightning’ and ‘The Burning’.
Having toured extensively across Britain and Europe, along with shows in Canada, North and South America and Asia, the band is pumped to perform in Australia for the very first time this August and September.
