Bryan Ferry Shares 'Star', His First New Song in a Decade

The great Bryan Ferry has surprise dropped his first new single in a decade. ‘Star’ is a collaboration with singer Amelia Barratt that began as a “sketch” by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross of Nine Inch Nails.

A moody 80s industrial synth composition, ‘Star’ is accompanied by a music video directed by Ferry and James Garzke. It’s easy to see Reznor and Ross’ contribution on Ferry’s first tune since 2014’s ‘Avonmore’, although the addition of Barratt adds another dimension.

Speaking about his collaboration with Barratt, who is a painter and writer, Ferry says: “A couple of years ago I helped her record an audiobook here in my studio. I was very impressed by her writing, and this is the first song we did together. I’m very excited about this new work—there’s a lot more to come.”
