The current lineup of vocalist and guitarist Brae Fisher, lead guitarist Lachlan Simpson, bassist Jeremy Baker and drummer Lewis Armstrong are performing ten shows across the country, playing songs from their upcoming new album (which drops on January 17) alongside fan favourites.
Taking to Instagram to announce the tour, the band commented: “Thought we’d squeeze in another AUS lap before our new album drops!!! ❤️🔥 Gonna be playing live sets around the country for 10 SUPER LIMITED album launch shows in Dec/Jan to celebrate the upcoming release of TOY. Since forming in 2013, Dear Seattle has built a solid fanbase across Australia with their indie rock stylings. Both the band’s first two albums – 2019s Don’t Let Go and 2022s Someday – made the ARIA Album Chart top 45, while their triple j Like a Version cover of Missy Higgins’ ‘The Special Two’ was widely acclaimed.
As fans await the release of Toy, Dear Seattle have shared the album’s first single, ‘Evergreen’. A throwback to early 00s Aussie rock, the tune is made for playing live.
Speaking on the track, the band said: “Evergreen is about the struggle of being honest with what we feel, especially for men. We’re so used to bottling up our emotions because no one ever really taught us how to express them. So, we sit in our thoughts way longer than we should.”
Catch Dear Seattle at Crown & Anchor on Sunday, December 15. Tickets on sale now via this link. Pre-order/pre-save a copy of Toy here.
