Elsy Wameyo Announces Australian Tour Dates

The Nairobi-born, Adelaide-raised artist is touring in support of her debut album, Saint Sinner.

Emerging creative Elsy Wameyo has announced a seven-date Australian tour kicking off in November. The tour comes in support of Wameyo’s debut album Saint Sinner, which is out now via AWAL/Impressed Recordings.

Speaking about her upcoming tour, Wameyo says: “I’m really excited to bring this back to Australia. The album is a reflection of the new me. I’ve learnt so much and have grown immensely and I can’t wait to celebrate this chapter right where it all started.”

Currently preparing for shows in Nairobi, Paris and London, Wameyo returns to Oz in November and begins her run of dates at High Note in Naarm/Melbourne on Friday, November 15.

Wameyo then performs at AdeLOUD in Kaurna/Adelaide on Saturday, November 16, Austinmer Surf Club on Dharawal Land on Friday, November 22 and Golden Age Cinema and Bar in Eora/Sydney on Saturday, November 23. The final concerts for the Saint Sinner tour take place at Meanjin/Brisbane’s Quivr on Sunday, November 24, Lutruwita/Tasmania’s The Great Escape Festival on Monday, December 30 and NYE On The Hill on Gunaikurnai Land on Tuesday, December 31.

2024 has been a huge year for Elsy Wameyo, with the rapper and singer’s debut album receiving critical acclaim from Australia’s music press. Not only was it the Feature Album on Double J, but NME awarded Saint Sinner four out of five stars while Purple Sneakers, ACCLAIM, Junkee and Rolling Stone AU all gave the album props.

Her success comes just a couple of years after supporting Genesis Owusu on his national tour and playing Falls Festival and Lost Paradise. Wameyo’s homecoming show in Adelaide as part of AdeLOUD is shaping up as another special show fans won’t want to miss.
