The self-described “Yolŋu surf rock” collective took Australia by storm in 2020 with the release of their first single, ‘Hey Wanhaka’. The group released several more tracks before dropping their well-received self-titled debut album in 2022.

A massive success, the album earned the band three AIR Awards, the Michael Gudinski Breakthrough Artists gong at the ARIA Music Awards and the Australian Music Prize, which comes with a cool $30,000 in prize money.

Having toured both locally and internationally (the band is currently in the States touring with King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard), King Stingray’s new album drops next month and includes the already released single, ‘Cat 5 (Cyclone)’.

Catch King Stingray at Hindley Street Music Hall on Friday, March 28. For full ticketing information visit Handsome Tours. For the Dreams arrives November 8. You can pre-order a copy here.
