Formed in 1987, Sydney rockers The Cruel Sea started life as an instrumental act before Beasts of Bourbon vocalist Tex Perkins joined and success quickly followed.
Between 1990 and 2001, The Cruel Sea released six studio albums, with 1995s Three Legged Dog topping the ARIA Album Chart. Known for their energetic live shows and hit singles ‘The Honeymoon Is Over’, ‘Better Get a Lawyer’ and ‘Just a Man’, the band cemented themselves as Aussie icons throughout the ‘90s, winning eight ARIA Awards, including five for 1994s The Honeymoon Is Over.
Officially disbanding in 2003, The Cruel Sea have reunited several times over the years, before getting back together in 2023 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of The Honeymoon Is Over. This led to the band getting back into the studio and recording their new album.
