UK indie act The Horrors are back with new music for the first time since 2021.
‘The Silence That Remains’ is a driving, gothic post-rocker the band said in a press release is like “a 3am insomnia walk through the city, retracing our steps and putting the past to bed.”
The band added: “Our new chapter is beginning and we’re looking forward to taking you with us. The Horrors are never-ending.”
‘The Silence That Remains’ is taken from The Horrors’ upcoming sixth album, Night Life. Arriving March 21 via Fiction Records (pre-save/pre-order here), the release sees a new version of The Horrors come to life, with original members Faris Badwan (vocals) and Rhys Webb (bass) now joined by Amelia Kidd (keys) and Telegram’s Jordan Cook (drums).
The additions of Webb and Kidd come after the departures of Tom Furse and Joseph Spurgeon, with The Horrors now a four-piece.

The Horrors have been swimming around the UK indie pond for close to two decades, first tasting success in 2007 with the release of their debut record, Strange House. The album was critically acclaimed by the global music press, with The Guardian awarding it four stars and calling it a “bold debut.”
The band’s four albums to follow – Primary Colours (2009), Skying (2011), Luminous (2014) and V (2017) – were all highly rated and charted within the UK Top 40, despite The Horrors never quite translating that success into commercial appeal.
The release of new single ‘The Silence That Remains’ coincides with The Horrors’ first tour of 2024, with the quartet performing eight shows across the UK this November and December.
Night Life arrives March 21 via Fiction Records. You can pre-save/pre-order the album here.
The survey is now open and closes on Monday, March 31 at 11:59pm.
