Celebrating its 30th birthday, Woodford Folk Festival has delivered an exceptional lineup of international and local talent for its 2024/25 event.

Held in the Moreton Bay region in a rural valley, the Woodford Folk Festival runs from Friday, December 27, 2024, to Wednesday, January 1, 2025. The event boasts 450 artists across six days headlined by indie pop act Ball Park Music, rural rockers King Stingray, alt singer-songwriter Tia Gostelow and Yolngu rapper Baker Boy.

Along with the headliners, expect to see thrilling sets from a wide range of Aussie acts including the legendary Yothu Yindi, five-time ARIA Award-winning crooner Dan Sultan, country superstar Beccy Cole, neo-soul powerhouse Ngaiire, genre-defying artist Meg Washington, blues and roots favourite Ash Grunwald, storyteller Josh Pyke, folk-pop singer Alex The Astronaut and many more.

As for the international contingent, New Zealand’s talented Bic Runga, South African acapella collective The Joy, Scottish indie-folk group Elephant Sessions, French performer Ysé, musician and visual artist AURUS and Icelandic folk artist JFDR are all on the bill.

Tickets for Woodford Folk Festival 2024/25 are on sale now via the Woodford Folk Festival website.

It’s not just incredible music that makes Woodford Folk Festival a great way to see in the New Year, with the festival also hosting a band competition, dance classes and a variety of panels with speakers including emerging actor Quaden Bayles, activist Yarraka and Sea Shepherd's Jeff Hanson.

Punters can also take part in yoga and meditation classes and various workshops before the traditional three-minute silence welcoming the New Year takes place. This is followed by the harmonic force of the Tibetan lineage, Tenzin Choegyal, performing alongside the monks of Tibet as the first sunrise of 2025 takes place.

“To mark 30 years of the festival at Woodfordia, this is one of our most exciting programmes to date,” Festival Director, Amanda Jackes says. “We are thrilled to reveal the vast array of artists and presenters who will bring people together to herald in the new year with creativity, music and culture from around the world.

"The festival is based on a vision of inclusivity, community and traditions. The site, a former treeless dairy farm, has been regenerated with over 135,000 subtropical rainforest trees, orchids, ferns and sedges planted to create a habitat for butterflies and wildlife that attendees now and in the future will enjoy."

Woodford Folk Festival takes place at Woodfordia (Sunshine Coast) from Friday, 27 December 2024, until Wednesday, 1 January 2025. Tickets on sale now via the Woodford Folk Festival website.
