Australia’s annual gathering of music industry professionals and emerging artists, BIGSOUND, has announced its first lineup of acts that will headline the 2024 showcase.
Having already announced the excellent list of guest speakers attending the 23rd edition of BIGSOUND, including the likes of Amyl & The Sniffers frontwoman Amy Taylor, London-based co-founder of record label Butterz Elijah and A&R legend Korda Marshall, this year’s showcase performances include some of the best up and coming talent the nation has to offer.
After over 1,200 Aussie artists applied to be part of BIGSOUND 2024, that number has been whittled down to 70, with some of the standout acts announced including singer-songwriter Alex The Astronaut, Sydney rockers Dear Seattle, multi-talented creative MUDRAT, Perth alt-rockers Sly Withers, introspective indie-folk artist Juice Webster and Melbourne singer-songwriter Gretta Ray.

“It has been such a privilege getting the opportunity to program the BIGSOUND 2024 lineup,” the festival’s new music programmers Casey O'Shaughnessy and Katie Rynne said in a joint statement. “We are blown away by the calibre of artists that applied this year, and we’ve discovered so many amazing new artists in the process.
“While it was challenging to whittle it down to the final showcasing artists, we are so grateful to the First Nations Advisory Group and the extended Program Advisory Group that we worked with to help us create this year's final lineup.”
BIGSOUND is held at Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley precinct and runs from Tuesday, September 3 to Friday, September 6. Tickets are on sale now via BIGSOUND.
