‘Blade Runner’ Live Comes To the Festival Theatre This October
Experience Ridley Scott’s multi-Academy Award-nominated cult classic, Blade Runner (2007 Final Cut), on a vast HD screen while Vangelis' synthesiser-led score is performed by The Replicant Ensemble.

Fans of the science fiction epic Blade Runner (2007 Final Cut) will want to get along to the Festival Theatre this October when The Replicant Ensemble perform Vangelis' synthesiser-led score in sync with the film as it plays on a massive HD screen.
This incredible experience gives movie lovers the chance to watch Ridley Scott’s sci-fi classic on the big screen while the BAFTA and Golden Globe-nominated score is brought to life in the theatre by the 11-piece orchestra The Replicant Ensemble.
The Blade Runner soundtrack is widely regarded as a masterpiece and Greek electronic composer Vangelis’ best work, with standout tracks 'Love Theme' and 'Runners Blues' sure to sound amazing when performed by the orchestra in the flesh.

Along with the soundtrack, the movie itself is a work of art. Based on a short story by legendary author Philip K. Dick, Blade Runner is set in a dystopian future Los Angeles in 2019. The film stars Harrison Ford as detective Rick Deckard, a Blade Runner whose job is to hunt down Replicants (synthetic humans) who have escaped from work camps in space and returned to Earth.
Not only is it an entertaining sci-fi thriller with incredible cinematography and awesome performances from Ford, Rutger Hauer, Sean Young, and Edward James Olmos, but Blade Runner touches on heavy themes such as technology, genetic engineering, religion, globalization and more.
The film also ends ambiguously, with the audience left wondering whether Ford’s Deckard is a human or a replicant.
